About Janie
Miss Janie Wilson was auditorium teacher at Reinhardt Elementary School in the 1950's and was an inspiration to many of the children who attended the school, including the owner of this blog.
Janie's Fingers
Janie controlled children in the auditorium using finger snapping, in a triple meter fanfare motif—SNAP, SNAP, SNAP—which reverberated through the auditorium space and jarred our childhood brains to attention. It’s a mystery how she so effortlessly was able to condition so many thousands of little minds that went through that school. I have confirmed reports that she also pinched children who were bad, spoke out of the side of her mouth, and clicked her high heels.
Don, this was a terrific stroll down memory lane. Glad John Gallagher was there to provide the old scrapbooks and lead the tour. Great job of bringing back the old memories! Stephen
Once again, you're entirely too much fun. This is brilliant. Let's hear if for Janie Wilson and the Rams! And the Misses Ripley, Hardy, Keeling, Deigh, Mattox and all the rest.

Wow. Was the auditorium really THAT small?
Or were WE just that small?
And Steve's nose on Mrs. Keeling's bench is priceless.
